Das Perfekt (The conversational past or present perfect)
The conversational past tense (das Perfekt), also called the present perfect, describes events that occurred in the past. In German, it is used predominantly in speech, and it is only used in written texts when it functions as a direct quote.
The present perfect is made up of two parts: a helping verb (haben or sein) and the past participle, which is placed at the end of the sentence.
